Le HTML
What is HTML? Well... for starters it stands for; "Hypertext Markup Language." It is the basis for creating a webpage, just like the one you or I are on now! HTML consists of tags (<h1>) and ending tags (</h1>). The purpose of web browsers is to take the HTML coding and compose it into visible and audible webpages. It is HTML that forms the basis of every webpage on the internet, it is what makes them interactive, eg. videos, images and text etc.Monday, 12 August 2013
The history of le Web
We all use it... You have to use it to read this.. It's the Internet! 50 years ago during the cold war, someone asked the question, "How could the US authorities successfully communicate after a nuclear war?" Blueprints were created and in 1969 four nodes were created on the a young network, connecting computers together. Its nickname was "ARPANET." A few years after operation it was realised that this early network was used by scientists as an infant social network. In 1971 there were four nodes in the networks.. Now, there are tens of thousands.
Over time the internet was discovered by people outside of the military and it began to grow into a massively social communication method. Since 1988 the number of "host" machines has doubled every year. The internet has emerged from the military bases it was originally designed for and is now in schools, homes, libraries fast food joints and even modern phones.
